Today i was able to attend the youth week BBQ put on by the Lethbridge family centre and united way. There was games, prizes, food, and much more! It was so fun helping kids play at different stations and give them the tickets they needed to get the prize they wanted. It was so awesome to be a part of the family centre team and to volunteer and help out. It was also great to spend the day along side my pageant sister and friend Jaime! Along with helping at the stations and games Jaime Vandenberg (Miss Teenage Alberta 2014) and I walked around selling candy bags for any donations as little as a nickel to go towards putting together more youth day events. People were so generous with their donations and loved their candy! Some people even decided to give us a donation and pass along their candy bag to one of the kids.

They had music playing in the gardens and you could smell the yummy burgers and hot dogs on the grill. It was a beautiful day and we had such a good turn out of kids, it got pretty busy! I actually ended up with my first sun burn of the year, ouch! The day went by so quickly and i got to meet plenty of new people. A few little girls even had their little princess crowns on that they won from the prize table! there was tug of war, plinko, seed toss and so much more.

It was just another great event put on my wonderful people. The family centre based in Lethbridge is a non-profit organization that provides services to children, youth and family’s. Their mission is to strengthen capacities and encourage the best possible development of family’s in Southwestern Alberta, and that is exactly what they are doing!
